Two- or Three-Muscle Strabismus Surgery
Strabismus, also known as misalignment of the eyes, occurs when the eyes are not properly aligned. This condition can cause one eye to deviate inward, outward, upward, or downward. Sometimes, more than one of these deviations can happen simultaneously it can be manifest or latent or intermittent.
The treatment for strabismus can be done through non-surgical refractive error correction, patch, exercise or surgical methods, but in many cases, su
rgery is the most effective approach to achieve normal alignment.
Pre-Operative Preparation
• Duration of preoperative examinations and tests: half a day
• Preparation time for surgery until discharge: approximately 3 to 4 hours
• Duration of surgery: approximately 45 to 60 minutes
• Time to return to normal life: variable based on age, for children it usually takes around 2 one/week , and for adults approximately 1-3 weeks.
• Success rate of this treatment method is about 70 to 80%
